Sculpted Ice Works started as a part-time side business offering custom ice sculptures to a few local businesses in November of 1999. There was a particular need at the time for Ice Sculptures at many New Year's celebrations, so Sculpted Ice Works began offering New Year's designs in addition to the standard holiday, theme oriented and popular wedding sculptures. The company has since grown to a full time business, employing several full time ice carvers, office, and delivery staff.

Owner/Sculptor, Mark Crouthamel, began his career in the food service business in 1985 as a line cook. Working his way through college from 1988-1993, he gained valuable knowledge and experience. Mark graduated with an Associate Degree in Culinary Arts (1990), a Bachelor of Science Degree in Food Service Management & a Bachelor of Science Degree in Food Service Education (both 1993). From March of 1993 to the December of 2000, Mark held positions as an assistant kitchen manager, executive chef, restaurant manager, food and beverage director, and college instructor.

Mark began ice carving in 1995, while working as a chef in an area restaurant. Since 2001, Sculpted Ice Works has been a full-time ice carving business. Marketing and Sales employees were added to assist the growing business, as well as additionl full-time ice carvers. All of our carvers are members of the National Ice Carving Association. Ice Sculpting is an art that the business is well known for in the region. Presently, many resorts rely on Sculpted Ice Works to supply all their Ice Sculptures.
